In life, there are many things that happen to us that shape us into the hopefully wonderfully made individuals that we are. These things that shape us can be good or bad. The thing one must realize about a shape is that you only see the external surface of it. A sphere can be as large as a house, but hollow inside. How does this reflect an individual? Well a lot of the people walking this earth are hollow spheres. They are beings who externally look as if they have it all together. Smooth, large and in charge is what others see. But these being, they know that on the inside, there is a void that needs to be filled. An emptiness that eats away at them every. second. of. every. day.
The problem with these voids is that many people try very hard to fill them. Some spend their entire lives seeking a way to fill this void.I believe that there are two courses to allow a void to be filled. To explain these, I look to an example found in nature.
A speeding meteor can hit the earth causing a great void. A crater if you will. Over time, nature will take its course and the crater will become part of the earth again, covered in grass, animals walking over it, basically filled with life. On the other hand, man can use this crater as a landfill. We can fill it with trash and other unnatural things. In both of these ways, the hole has been filled. The difference is that with man, we fill it up with garbage, which poisons the Earth while temporarily pleasing us until we need more space to put more trash…
With this being said, we must realize what we are filling ourselves with. If one has an emotional void caused from a stolen childhood, a loss of innocence, or the lack of a parental figure, they can determine how they will fill this void. The natural route will take patience, possible prayer if you believe and most of all, TIME. The man-made route may seem quicker and give you temporary pleasures but ask yourself this… Do we want to walk around with our spirit, our essence, filled with life? Or do we want to fill ourselves with poison? A poisoned spirit seems much worse when the person who administered the poison is yourself…
